Great first work experience with how things work in the real world, and everyone was so kind and easy to talk too.

More hands on work compared to just straight desk work.

Clerical Temp

May - August 2018 • Cheswick, PA

What I liked

I was employed through the temp agency Populus Group to work on a project at Curtiss-Wright over the summer. I had lots of flexibility in my hours, such as if I had an appointment or other prior engagement to attend. The work was mostly simple filing. It was very methodical, which is something I enjoy.

Purchasing Agent Intern

May - September 2021 • Brecksville, OH

What I liked

I loved being able to work with people who had the same drive to reach the same goal as me. I also really enjoyed the type of work I had to do. Working and communicating with suppliers every day was something I had never done before and it was such an interesting experience.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to take some more time to train a little longer to grab a better grasp on my day to day work

Advice

The most important thing is to stay organized and on task, timing is everything in this job and if you fall behind you really are going to need to work hard to get back on track.

Engineering Intern

April - August 2021 • Idaho Falls, ID

What I liked

I loved the schedule flexibility and task flexibility. If there was an area that we had interest in at the location we could talk with our supervisor. My supervisor would then find an opportunity for me to help there.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more of an intern development program. At me location they had no internship plan other than for the interns to gain real experience where it was needed and/or wanted.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share from this experience is that when you have your internship, always establish good communication with your supervisor. They are on your side and want to give you the best experience possible.
