I enjoyed working in the beautiful forested areas of North Idaho, as we marked the boundaries between state or federal lands and potlatch lands.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have came in at a better time where I didn’t have to work under a crew lead that wasn’t fit for the position (although I did replace him in just a few months as the lead).
Advice
Do your research of the job area / lines that you will work on. It could save a lot of time as some areas of the line are more open to the skies and allow for GPS use instead of using the total station.
