Mechanical Engineering Intern

What I liked

I really liked the smaller size of the company. I felt a lot more comfortable getting to know people I would see frequently around the office. I also got lots of hands-on experience with testing, production, failure analysis, and cost analyzation.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have done more in the design portion of the products. I was able to use lots of software and programs to do simulations, but did not have a solid understanding of the theory of our product.

Advice

Ask lots of questions! It is scary admitting you don't know everything about what is going on. Being able to communicate will show you are interested in learning, trying to become more familiar with the product, and show good initiation skills employers want.
