What I liked

I liked my time at CTL Aerospace Inc. a lot, I had a variety of different responsibilities. The responsibility that I did most of my work in was in my role as a leader of development for their new 3D scanner technology programs. I would find the best ways they can utilize the machines for their parts and provided efficient solutions. I also developed many different Excel reporting templates, correlation reports, and materials testing results for the company that will be used in tandem with the scanners. I also was involved with the process of writing reworks for defective parts and gained a great deal of knowledge of the development process that goes into a part. I finally had the responsibility to do other small tasks like preparing a power point for a change in process or helping arrange some items that needed to be completed.

What I wish was different

I wish that my time at CTL was a little more focused. At the beginning of the summer, there was a little lapse of work to do as my boss had not had an intern in a while. However, it was fixed within a week and made the job enjoyable. I truly don't believe that there was too much I did not like about working for CTL, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Advice

One piece of advice I would give about the experience is to always speak up. At first, I had a lack of work because I was not speaking up for myself and I was sitting around. The more that you speak up and start asking questions you will find that you get more things to do around the company. Speaking up and learning about things was one of the main reasons I was not always bored out of my mind and why I truly enjoyed my time.
