CSC

Sales Intern

June - August 2019 • Wilmington, DE

What I liked

The company culture at CSC was incredible. Everyone from upper management to the cafeteria staff was kind and always ready to help. Everyone was treated with kindness and respect no matter the position. I cannot express how much company culture mattered to CSC. They try to promote internally, instead of firing they try to put you in a different department to see if you fit better. Overall it was a wonderful internship.

What I wish was different

Sales is hard! There's no sugarcoating it. I learned very quickly it was not something I would like to go into professionally, however I could see why one would. I also did not like how unorganized some tasks that were assigned were; sometimes it was hard to tell who you were supposed to actually report to.

Advice

Don't take the calls personally! Cold calling isn't easy, and sales is not a field for someone with thin skin. You have to commit to the role and really push yourself in order to keep making calls.

Legal Intern

June - August 2019 • Wilmington, DE

What I liked

I loved interning for CSC in their legal department because of the people I got to work with. All of the attorneys were extremely intelligent, driven and helpful. They always made me feel welcomed and included and always had interesting jobs for me to do.

What I wish was different

The only thing that I wish could have been different was my commute! I had to drive 1.5 hours each way every day and that made it really difficult.

Advice

If you finish a task, always ask for more to do!

Legal Intern

June - August 2019 • Wilmington, DE

What I liked

All of the attorneys that I worked with were extremely kind, brilliant and helpful. I was excited to go in to work everyday because they included me seamlessly and were such a great group to work with!

What I wish was different

As a legal intern it is hard to want to be more involved because a lot of the work requires a law degree. I really appreciated being asked to join in on meetings or phone calls and I would’ve loved more of that!

Advice

Always ask for more work if you finish what you’ve been working on. For me it was more fun when I had more work to do!
