What I liked
I got to spend the month of August hanging out with some really awesome kiddos. I was a counselor for sixth grade girls. They had a lot of energy, but brought their kindness and enthusiasm into every activity that we did at camp.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to come out for the whole summer. My schedule did not permit this, but that would have been fun.
Advice
Getting enough sleep every night was important. You have to bring a lot energy and patience when working with children. This is not possible unless you are well rested.

What I liked
I loved living in a new place for a summer - Colorado is absolutely gorgeous. I also enjoyed ministering to the kids all summer! It was such a fun and rewarding position!
What I wish was different
It was a job with the camp during the day but also a summer mission at night. We had a lot of summer mission activities in the evenings after work and I just wish we had had a little bit more free time.
Advice
Take full advantage of every opportunity and experience and try to be fully present.
