I liked the family aspect of Crop Quest and getting to work hand in hand with full-time agronomists and their growers. It was interesting to see all the different techniques used to scout and make sure everything was growing as it should.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to be out there longer in order to see some of the forage crops I got to look at being harvested.
Advice
It is an excellent hands on experience that will get you prepared for any other type of agronomy job you may come across, even working for Crop Quest again.

Crop Scout Intern

What I liked
I enjoyed the people I worked with the most. My manager placed me with the perfect Agronomists. A Crop Quest internship is known in the KSU Student Community as a premier internship and it not only lived up to its reputation but surpassed my expectations! Walking through fields every day and checking for anything out of the ordinary and recording even the ordinary felt way too fun to be work. I didn’t get to meet many farmers but those I met where some of the nicest people I have ever met.
What I wish was different
Crop Quest employees seem to have one objective and that is “Work hard so we can consume as much alcohol as possible!”
Advice
Come to the internship wanting to learn leave the internship not being able to write down all that you have learned!
