Crime Stoppers of Michigan

Intern

May - August 2017 • Southfield, MI

What I liked

Going into the internship I didn’t know what I wanted to do, my supervisor put me through many recruitments and police ride alongs. I found something I love and I’m applying for Customs/Border patrol.

What I wish was different

Nothing at all

What I liked

The atomosphere at Crime Stoppers of Michigan was amazing. We all worked together and helped each other as a team. Helping people in our community was an amazing feeling.

What I wish was different

I wish it was a paid internship even though it was still amazing being there just for the experience.

Advice

Work hard, be positive, be professional, and always be on time.

Intern

September - December 2017 • Southfield, MI

What I liked

I met some really cool people! I enjoyed the two women I worked under and, in the end, I was sad to leave.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more work to do in the beginning. It was a rough start for me, but once we got the ball rolling on our project, I had work to do, just maybe not as much or not as big a variety as I had hoped.

Advice

Don’t have any expectations going in. It gets in your head. Make sure to talk to people! It’s way better when you know people and you interact everyday, plus it helps if you don’t have anything to do. They will help you!
