I like working as a team and working hard with my boss and coworkers to get the job done as smoothly and as fast as possible.
What I wish was different
For me, I don't think I really wish anything should have been different. I think everything was as perfect as it could be.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to be as respectful as you can because you don't know what you may get in return.

What I liked
Team members were really friendly and open to help. You also had time to physically test your code instead of waiting because your contribution was part of a whole. And lastly the coffee maker there is magical.
What I wish was different
Demo projects where using all communication protocols to establish a connection.
Advice
You do real work. Make sure you know your stuff even if you are slow at it. And since you are working on real projects, ask and re-ask for confirmation that you have taken the right steps to document, create, pass, and or submit your work.

What I liked
Crestron provided just what I was looking for, the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience in the Computer Science and Engineering field for consumer electronics.
The company had a welcoming environment with employees that were more than happy to work together in finding solutions to problems.
The hours were flexible with being a student and the pay was fair.
What I wish was different
One downside was my manager worked in a different office across the country so any questions or conversations were always done remotely which sometimes made it difficult to demonstrate certain things.
COVID-19 also hit during my internship which made the rest of the internship remote where before I was in the office. This is not the company's fault but it definitely changed the quality of experience that I had received.
Advice
I would suggest that anyone looking for an internship should thoroughly research the position they are applying for and sell yourself when it comes time for the interview. Many companies like Crestron are looking for self-motivated, confident, and knowledgeable students.

Great opportunity to learn how to work in cross functional teams. Make sure to really expand your network while interning and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. The most helpful thing I did while interning with Crestron was to really focus on building relationships and showing that I cared about what I was doing.

Take the opportunity to meet a lot of people and learn from them. My first internship was in one department however my second and full time are in a different one I enjoy more. Taking the time to get to know more people will be beneficial.

What I liked
I liked everything about my experience this summer! The company is large and growing every year. This allowed me to learn a lot. The people are wonderful and very willing to help you grow. This internship was extremely beneficial and I know that the skills I developed at this internship will be useful in my future career.

If you want something, you have to reach out and ask for it. When i expressed my interest in a specific area, my manager would help find some way for me to get involved with it.
