Level of engagement with current employees and ability to ask anyone in the office questions. The work culture at CRB was amazing and the level complexity in all projects was always fascinating to learn.

Instrumentation and controls engineering intern
May - August 2020 • Kansas City, MO
What I liked
The people and community were absolutely amazing. I loved that I was able to see what the role of an engineer actually was rather than the role of an intern. They had me doing real work on real projects and taught me everything I needed to know along the way. I was given a mentor that gave incredible support when I felt like I didn't know what I was doing and the salary was nice as well.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been in person so I could have seen the dynamics in the office rather than just being online. I'm so grateful that CRB kept their internship promises during a worldwide pandemic, but I do wish I had the opportunity to see what normal life on the job looked like.
Advice
Try everything even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone because you may end up loving it. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. These employers know you don't know how to do the work they are asking you to do, but they want to teach you so that you become the best engineering you can be in the future.

Architecture Intern

What I liked
Company culture is very welcoming and nurturing as someone who is still in school and experiencing their first professional job. The amount of exposure to the profession and all aspects of a project is exceptional greatly contributed to my understanding of my role in the company and the work I am doing.
