Co-workers were quick to help me. We all picked up on each other's slack through the shift. Lots of conversation with nice old people.

What I wish was different

I probably should have picked up more shifts and slightly longer hours.

Advice

Stay on your toes, make sure your guests are getting good service, even if it's not for a table your serving.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Cracker Barrel and the employees that I worked with.

The quests that often come into Cracker Barrel are never really friendly, so it wasn’t always a fun work environment.

I would suggest everyone to apply and be prepared to not sit at a desk all day! You actually do work all day everyday!

What I liked

The company culture is so welcoming and friendly. There is a huge emphasis on diversity, which was very refreshing. The projects I worked on were well-rounded and visibly impactful. I got to work with so many unique teams and experienced different types of projects with each. Interns received paid housing, only 10 minutes away from Cracker Barrel’s Home Office. We also had the option to participate in free networking events after work, which were so much fun. Overall, working with Cracker Barrel was a wonderful and fulfilling experience.

What I wish was different

Nothing — this internship went above and beyond my expectations.

Advice

Be confident and network like crazy! Try to meet as many people as you can, whether it’s in passing, during your lunch break, or at an after-work event. Make sure you leave a positive impression on everyone you meet, not just the people you’re directly working for/with!
