I really enjoyed forming connections with the kids. We would play games, read books, focus on academics, and provide resources for the daycare.
What I wish was different
I wish we could have been going longer. Due to COVID, we were sent home, and there was no possible option to continue volunteering over zoom or some form of technology.
Advice
If I could share one piece of advice, I would say something about the kids wanting social connection rather than learning. Some of their home lives are not the best and just having a person they can play and talk to is extremely important.
