Finance Intern

May - August 2019 • Rochester, NY

What I liked

I loved the people that I worked with, both the full time team and the other interns. I liked how the work that I did was used by both the finance and IT teams, and will continued to be used beyond my time there. I liked how I could present my contributions to the leadership teams.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change anything from my experience. I think it went really well. I think the on-boarding could have been smoother, for example they could have let me know exactly what to do and what to expect for the first day.

Advice

I would hope that the next intern does what I did. Do as much networking as possible, even with people outside of your department. Also, work as hard as you can and always be willing to take on more work.

Content Marketing Intern - Digital & Video

May - August 2019 • Pleasanton, CA

What I liked

I learned a lot from the opportunity to mesh creative arts with business administration. Coming from a background working fellow fimmakers, it was a challenge to be the only creative force in a corporate entity. To maximize my time, I had to find ways to explain a creative vision in terms that number-minded people could understand, and ultimately approve. Above all else, however, the friends that I made were by far my favorite part of the internship.

What I wish was different

If I could change one thing, I would enable more collaboration between the interns. Although we always found time to mingle, both in and outside of work, we never got a true chance to collaborate on the projects themselves. Even though we were spread across different departments (and buildings), I think we could've learned a lot from working with/for each other.

Advice

Besides the obvious "go the extra mile" and "don't waste any networking opportunities," I would say to simply enjoy it while it lasts. An internship is by its nature temporary, and even with a return offer, you'll never have those same summer experiences again.
