The mentorship program at Cook involves the Co-op being assigned a mentor that acts as their direct supervisor throughout the rotation. Having a mentor who clearly cared about my experience allowed me to learn by asking questions without fear of being a nuisance. I was also given very meaningful work and encouraged to contribute in creative ways. I am excited to return for another rotation.
What I wish was different
The first couple of weeks were a little stressful as I had little to do. This quickly changed but I would have appreciated having a structured project from the start of the rotation.
Advice
Do not be afraid to ask questions when you feel lost or ask for work when you feel you can take on more.
