I liked how hands on the experience was and how they placed you with different mentors throughout the internship.
What I wish was different
Everything that Consumers did for the internship was perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing.
Advice
One advice I would tell anyone is to make sure to be willing to learn new things. Make yourself like a sponge, be able to absorb as much information and wisdom that they teach you at Consumers.

Commercial Lending Intern
May - August 2019 • Gurnee, IL
What I liked
I loved the culture at Consumers Credit Union. I never felt like an intern and always had something to work on. The staff is very welcoming and is encouraged to teach you as much as possible during your summer.
What I wish was different
More socials with other interns.
Advice
Ask as many questions as possible and don't be afraid to shadow other departments.

Product Innovation Intern
May 2019 • Gurnee, IL
What I liked
I loved the collaboration and the structure of my program. I had weekly expert panels to attend, met the other interns through social events, and was able to work cross-departmentally.
What I wish was different
I wish I had spent more time networking with professionals in the departments I was interested in besides my own. I loved working in my department and they were so open to me learning about others as well, and I wish I had reached out to a few more!
Advice
Take full advantage of the opportunity to meet all of the wonderful people who work there! They are so open to seeing their interns talk to other departments and learn more than just their job functions.
