What I wish was different
I wish there had been more timely and transparent communication from management. After accepting a return offer and notifying my university, I didn’t receive any confirmation until I reached out about a month before my scheduled return. At that point, I was informed that due to budget cuts for co-op tier 1 analysts, my original position was no longer available, and when asking others who were returning, they had knew of the cuts for at least a week before I originally emailed. I then had to scramble to get classes to progress my education instead of pursuing the co-op position offered.
Clearer, proactive updates would have been very helpful. Even if you think you shouldn't have to, make sure you keep up communication with management or you'll be out of the loop.
