I loved working with kids, especially in a position where I just documented the highlights of their camp experience.
What I wish was different
I wish that there would have been more time set up for our staff to bond. Especially when we have counselors paired up differently every week, they need some time to get to know one another and know how they will work together.
Advice
I would say that that the camp experience is really what you make it – you can clock in and clock out without building relationships, or you can choose to dive in head first and create an amazing summer community. It's available, so just step out of your comfort zone and get to know your coworkers! You never know, they could become lifelong friends.

The atmosphere was great! The boss is really organized and really cares about his employees, and working alongside hardworking peers is a great way to spend your summer!

It is super fun, but it can be some long, hot days, so make sure to eat breakfast, drink coffee, and abound in patience!
