There was so much I loved about this experience but most of all, I loved the office environment. All the people in the office are incredibly helpful, kind, and intelligent. They provided every intern with so many incredible opportunities and were always eager to help when we had a question. I learned so much about federal policy and gained countless integral office skills. I really admire every person in this office, and it was a pleasure to work alongside them for a couple of months.

What I liked
I loved the team that I was able to work with this summer. Josh and the team were very helpful in getting us acclimated into our roles and how Capitol Hill works. The team was very open to helping each other, it was a great working environment, and everybody was willing to help out with a task or meeting whenever it was applicable. It was great, productive, and hard work. The Congresswoman was very kind and did her best to get to know her staff as well as interns whenever she could. It was really great getting to interact and work for her. Especially since I'm from her district, so it was even more important to me as the legislation drafted by her and her team affected my family in Texas' 15th district.
What I wish was different
I cannot complain. It truly was a very great experience. We got to be involved in a multitude of aspects of the legislative process.
Advice
Only one piece of advice? Well, I'd say be always be proactive. Don't wait for your intern coordinator or Legislative director to come up to you and tell you to do work. Go ask them if they need any help with tasks, whether that's doing research for a bill, sitting in on meetings, or working the phones.

What I liked
It is a great team that is very passionate about their jobs. Josh was great with helping the interns get acclimated, and he was very unbiased regarding political views in the office. It was all about hard work. I really enjoyed the whole summer and all the bells and whistles that came with working on the Hill. Also, the Congresswoman was very sweet, and I very much enjoyed getting to talk with and learn from her.
What I wish was different
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole ecperience.
Advice
Be proactive not reactive in obtaining work to do.
