Software Engineering Intern

What I liked

I had a really great mentor who helped me through everything, and my team was a lot of fun. I also loved getting to know the other interns, and lunches and happy hour were always a good time. I felt like I learned a lot without being too stressed, and made a lot of new friends.

What I wish was different

I worked on a project that I felt was important, but it wasn't really what I was expecting. I also had to switch projects three weeks in, so I wish I had picked a really compelling project early on and stuck with that.

Advice

Ask as many questions as you can! Everyone will help you succeed if you seek it out from them.

Advice

The first internship is the hardest, once you’ve had one or two experiences then finding internships becomes easier and companies may reach out to you like in my case. Always be open to any opportunity, no matter if you haven’t heard of the company before. Always reply to recruiter emails and if possible interview, even if you think you wouldn’t work there.
