What I liked

I liked how I was able to go into depth in the concrete and precast industry. I was also able to see how engineers help customers solve different problems without trying to solely sell a product. I also liked how I was able to make concrete and perform various ASTM tests on it. Lastly, I was able to help the company move forward with product approvals and expanding their outreach.

What I wish was different

I was there were more aspects where I could have been out in the field more as opposed to being in an office. I also wish I could have seen more into the precast industry and how they operate. I also with I could have seen more into what goes into batch designs. Lastly, I wish I could have learned more about the chemistry of their liquid admixtures.

Advice

My advice would be to never be afraid to ask questions and get involved in meetings. Regardless of what someone's role is in the company, never be afraid to be curious about what they are involved in. Specifically, marketing, sales, or research and development. You can always learn something about the products and how the company works throughout the various roles they fill.
