Concho is a well-run company that invests in the development of its employees. Notwithstanding the remote work environment, both my mentor and my supervisor were intentional and helpful throughout the internship. I'm sure that the company will fit well into the ConcoPhillips organization.

What I liked
I was rotated among different departments within the accounting branch of the company which gave me great exposure to how of oil and gas accounting worked.
What I wish was different
I wished that I had been more proactive in the beginning of my internship in researching the industry so I would have had a more solid knowledge base going in instead of learning everything from scratch.
Advice
Always document the answers that you receive from the questions you ask because this will allow you to go back and refer to your notes instead of having to ask multiple questions. This also applies to when you are first given an assignment to accomplish and it reflects well on you.
