Data/Strategy Intern

What I liked

The company was very helpful and seemed like they truly enjoyed what they did every day. If I needed help I felt very comfortable asking my coworkers. There were also "lunch and learns" where we got to have hour crash-courses on aspects of health advertising.

What I wish was different

That it had not been remote - but we got to go into the office a couple of times which was nice.

What I liked

The company culture allowed for so much growth! We had the opportunity to build an entire pitch project and present to our CEO’s and clients. It taught me a lot about how to work in a team and what it takes to make a pitch successful.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more diversity in terms of representation within the agency. Within my specific brand, there were many people of color, but outside of my brand not many.

Advice

Take every opportunity and ask questions! Don’t be afraid to ask someone in the company what they do and if you could shadow for a day.

Project Management Intern

What I liked

I liked spending the summer working with students from different universities around the country. I was able to spend time working with a mentor who taught me so much about the advertising industry, as well as had the opportunity to be apart of an intern pitch project which was presented to senior leaders of the company and a client - which we ultimately won!!

What I wish was different

I wish that the program was longer! I wish I had had more time to work on the project with my group, as well as more time with my mentor because I loved learning from her.

Advice

Some advice I would share is that it is okay to ask questions when you're lost. I didn't know much about advertising before I started the internship and was scared that I would be confused and behind. My mentor was teaching me knew things all the time and worked hard to make sure that I was comfortable with the jobs that she gave to me. There is no shame in asking questions.
