IT / Software Development Intern

What I liked

I appreciated that I was treated like a professional (including semi-flexible hours), and the focus is on skill growth. I got to experience a range of collaborative software development responsibilities. The intern team was a joy to work with and helped reaffirm that software engineering is a path I want to continue pursuing.

What I wish was different

I wish there would have been just a little more guidance. Again, I appreciated the freedom, but sometimes it was unclear how to do something “the best way”.

Advice

Be ready to learn, but also to utilize your already learned skills. I hadn’t done software development in a team environment before this internship, but by applying my skills as an individual developer, I was able to effectively learn what team development is all about.
