Common Roots

About Common Roots

Common Roots connects farmers, educators, youth, college interns, and community members to build a sustainable future through food and land stewardship. By collectively educating and growing vibrant organic food for our Farmstand, programs, and food shelves, we celebrate the soil and soul of our community. Our certified organic regenerative farming practices provide food and soil security, nurturing our common roots.

Our main objectives are to:

- Provide programs and services that support youth in growing as responsible global citizens.
- Advocate for improved school food systems and sustainable local agriculture.
- Cultivate partnerships that strengthen food security and create community.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences to advance food and nutrition awareness.
- Support community engagement through internships and service learning opportunities.
- Participate in natural resource planning for ecosystem stewardship.

“I really enjoyed interning at Common Roots my junior year because I got to experience working at a non-profit and learn from great people! I had many different responsibilities as an intern which allowed me to figure out what tasks I enjoyed doing in a professional setting. ”
