Commemorative Air Force - RMW

About Commemorative Air Force - RMW

The CAF is a national all-volunteer organization dedicated to keeping the memory, spirit, and values of the Greatest Generation alive. We restore, maintain, and fly WWII-era aircraft and related artifacts, and tell stories of the heroes who flew and supported them. Our fleet consists of 180 aircraft representing nearly all the aircraft flown by the US and Allies during WWII – from the tiny 2-seat J3 Cub Trainer to the massive B-29 Superfortress Bomber that dropped the atomic bombs that ended the war. The CAF is a 501(C)3 non-profit volunteer-driven organization headquartered in Dallas TX. Our planes and regional museums are based at 80 units around the US, including the Rocky Mountain Wing (RMW) here at the Grand Junction Airport. The Rocky Mountain Wing members proudly operate an Aviation Heritage Museum, a 1946 J3 Cub Primary Trainer, and a 1945TBM Avenger Torpedo Bomber that is on the Colorado and National Register of Historic Places. We use these resources to do educational outreach programs here at home and exhibits with our planes at air shows around the Southwest in support of the CAF Mission: Educate, Inspire, Honor - Lest we forget.
