I loved the flexibility of the schedule--I did this internship in addition to working part-time and taking summer classes so being able to work my schedule around those things was great. I loved working with people who were enthusiastic and passionate about the Museum's mission.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been there longer! I helped out with the summer workshops but I wish there was a way to continue working in youth programming throughout the school year as an intern.
Advice
Don't be shy! The workshops are very relaxed in terms of structure and it is a *lot* of kids all at once. Every day was walking into a room full of energy--don't be afraid to jump right in. It can be a little intimidating at first but the more you engage with the kids and the art, the better your experience (and theirs) will be.
