Undergraduate Research Assistant

What I liked

I loved being able to work with an economics professor and an economics grad student. I also loved learning more about how to use STATA to test hypotheses.

What I wish was different

I wish it would have been a little more structured (more structured hours). I also wish that there would have been a bit more of a teaching aspect to it. Some of the software was new and I would have liked a bit more guidance.

Advice

Get to know STATA a little bit before participating in research.

Student Researcher

October 2018 - December 2020 • Fort Collins, CO

I liked working with graduate students and being able to see what life in a PhD program might look like. I was able to learn so many new techniques that I believe will set me apart in future jobs.

What I wish was different

I wish covid-19 wouldn't have happened so I could have finished my research project.

Advice

If you want a job like this ask your professors!! That's how I got into all the labs I worked in was by asking my micro professors if they knew anyone who would be hiring an undergraduate.
