I loved working outdoors. I was able to meet amazing people and provide excellent service to the Visitors. I was able to make great connections with others in Colorado Parks and Wildlife. It was a great experience and for people looking to get into this position full time, it's a great foot in the door.
What I wish was different
It is a temporary seasonal job. You can work up to 9 months in duration and then you have to take 4 months off. I wish I could work there full time.
Advice
It's an amazing experience. Working in the park or any park is a great way to get your foot in the door. You have to be 21 for some of these positions, like the law enforcement part but there are plenty of jobs that can be done at 18. Dont be afraid to volunteer or go in and ask to do a tour of the park/ ride along. Do some research about the agency and look at the 42 state parks in Colorado.
