I liked the research aspect of the job and feeling like I was making a difference in my home state through legislation.
What I wish was different
Ideally, I would have been able to go in person to experience legislative sessions. I also think it would have been beneficial to work with the representative more instead of his Chief of Staff.
Advice
I would suggest immersing yourself in the local political network on top of the work you do as a legislative fellow. It's a great opportunity to attend bill signings and meet representatives.
