What I liked
Very flexible with scheduling, great people around at the time, got bunches of time on instrumentation.
What I wish was different
Wages, a thousand bucks a month is nice but after rent and such it’s not enough to stay afloat.
Advice
Your experience will vary depending upon the professor you research with but I think they are mostly quite good.

What I liked
It was independent work, with weekly meetings. The tasks assigned were challenging, but manageable and extremely rewarding.
What I wish was different
There wasn't a lot of structure with this experience. It would have been nice to know exactly what I was doing and what my time-frame was like, instead of having it mostly decided by me.
Advice
Always build connections! Never stop networking with people in your community :)
