What I liked

The product they sold, all the ice creams are delicious. Also my coworkers were friendly and tried to help when possible.

What I wish was different

I wish they had trained me consistently. There were a lot of unmentioned details that added up and caused physical injuries to my arms and hands, such as freezer burn from the ice cream tubs and freezer room. I was told to do things one way on one shift and then another way on another shift, so just having a set of rules and steps to follow would've been a lot easier rather than word of mouth. Also there was no mention of a break time, so every shift was spent non-stop working with customers constantly coming in. Pay days were also inconsistent, I was never sure when or how I was getting paid.

Advice

If you're shorter than 5 ft (I'm 4'9"), don't take this job. A lot of difficulties were unavoidable due to my height, such as leaning over to scoop ice cream, reaching things above the sink and reaching for brownies on the glass counter above toppings, and especially getting things in the freezer/fridge area. Also have a tough skin starting out, I had a handful of very rude customers here. Also, this job will strain your wrists and hands immensely from mixing ice cream and carrying frozen, heavy ice cream tubs. Be prepared for that, I had to start wearing a wrist brace towards the end of my time here.
