The work environment was pretty laid back, fun group to work with. Management was also willing to work with your schedule as long as you give them proper notice (at least several days). Basic welding experience required, but also felt I could ask if I didn't know something. Also, overtime is usually available.
What I wish was different
Some equipment was a little dated or run down. Also have to be a hired on employee to operate heavy machinery which slowed things a bit, but we made it work.
Advice
Take responsibility and ownership of your job, ask questions instead of guessing and communicate clearly and you'll do fine.
