I was one of the only interns that was not majoring in construction management or civil engineer but that didn't matter to them, they still hired me and had no problem teaching me how to do things. Also I didn't think I was going to have any responsibility that would directly affect projects I was on when really I was involved in a lot of hands on things.
What I wish was different
Wish I would have been more open from the start, in reference to asking questions and just building relationships with co-workers and other companies we worked with. By the end of the summer I was very close with a lot of people in the company but could have built that relationship faster.
Advice
That when your interning just try, don't be afraid to fail or mess up, the companies fully expect you to mess up just don't keep making the same mistake and everything will be fine. Also don't be scared to ask questions of talk to everybody, interning is also a way to build your network, take advantage of it.
