ClearVision Optical was founded in NY in 1949 by a young and ambitious Navy veteran named Fred Friedfeld. With the help of his wife, Mimi, who he married in 1955, Fred set out to serve independent eyecare professionals by offering quality products and personal service. As the company grew, so did the Friedfeld family. Little by little, Fred and Mimi's children learned the optical business inside and out. More importantly, they learned the significance of building meaningful relationships with customers and treating each independent eyecare professional as a partner.
Today ClearVision is a global enterprise, serving optical professionals throughout the U.S. and in 40 countries. It is still privately owned by the Friedfeld family.
