What I liked

My coworkers were really friendly and were very approachable. The staff was willing to help me out in whatever I needed to make the most of my experience.

What I wish was different

I think being thrown into a position I was not prepared for was a bit difficult at first because it was not in my area of expertise. It was nice to see that my boss had enough faith in me to give me the added responsibility though.

Advice

Do not be afraid to ask questions. it is a lot easier and faster than trying to figure it out on your own.

Accounting Clerk Intern

What I liked

I love my coworkers. They made my experience at Clark Hill very enjoyable. With their help, I was able to acquire the skills I needed to complete my tasks. I also liked that I was able to see a different side of the accounting process while working in the Billing department.

What I wish was different

I do wish I had a bit more variety with my tasks. Clark Hill was merging with another firm and everyone was so busy trying to keep up with their work. Most of the billing department didn't have the time to give me work and explain what needed to be done.

Advice

Do not be afraid to talk to your supervisor about getting more work when you aren't busy. Also if you want to work with someone on a project with a coworker ask if you can help.

Conflict Analyist

What I liked

I liked the amount of independence I was given despite my status as a college student. I also was given the responsibility of an actual conflict analyst, so I was doing things that was actual work. I didn't have to do coffee runs or things they didn't want to do. I was working along with my colleagues as an actual team member.

What I wish was different

I didn't really like the distance and the driving I had to do every day, but I think what I was doing was beneficial and a great, worthwhile experience.

Advice

Be ready to ask questions and make mistakes, a lot of people are intimidated by these things, especially at a big law firm, because it might show them as weak or unintelligent. I think it is the exact opposite. It shows a passion to learn more, discover more, immerse yourself in your career.
