I liked the different things that they allowed me to work on. It gave me experience in several areas. The team I worked with was awesome and gave me as much help and advice that I asked for at all times.
What I wish was different
I wouldn't want any of it to be different. The experience was great.

Go in with an open mind, willing to learn and do whatever is asked of you.

What I liked
I enjoyed being a role model for the children to look up to as well as ensuring that they made the most out of their summer experience while on trips and on-cite activities.
What I wish was different
I wish the staff was more cooperative. I was hired at a higher position because of my previous experience with children, but this role was new to me so it took time to learn and adjust, but it was worth it.
Advice
You don't know what a child may be going through at home so don't just be a camp counselor, be the person they can trust and look up to for the short time you have with them. You may just be the person that impacts their life and they'll never forget you.
