City of Los Angeles

Data Analysis Intern

July - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I enjoyed the opportunity to further my previous experiences working with the City of Los Angeles ITA. I was given a lot of freedom and flexibility in terms of how I completed my projects. Every day I was able to get useful support from my advisors and coworkers. I feel like I more thoroughly solidified my passion for data science and my skills with operating in a data science team.

What I wish was different

Advice

Be confident in asking questions and don't be afraid to use your own perspective on the project. Internship supervisors are almost always grateful to just have you doing a little bit of work for them so the end result is not as high-stakes as it might feel.
