I enjoyed playing games with children, having fun with them. I loved teaching them new things and showing them how fun it can be to be adventurous. I liked to form personal relationships with all of them and make sure they had an safe and fun summer camp experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more options to give the children, more variety. I wish I had more resources and experiences at my disposal as a camp counselor.
Advice
Plan ahead, have activities paced out for the summer have back up plans. Some activity you think will take 45 minutes might only take 10 so have a back up plan. Try to mix things up anyone gets bored with the same old every day kids especially so. Depend on and trust your coworkers, it's a team effort.
