City of Issaquah

Parks and Recreation Reception & Booking

May - August 2019 • Issaquah, WA

What I liked

The co-workers who I worked with were very fun and enjoyable to work with.

What I wish was different

Nothing, it was a god experience. If anything I wish I had been different but that's a silly wish as going through the job is what made me different and competed that wish after the three months there.

Advice

It is very important to put on a happy face no matter what, the co workers have no issue talking to you about that sorta stuff but it is easy to get distracted by it and as the majority of the job is talking to people and answering the phone its best to not take the job if you're going through something in life that will prevent a consistent level of emotional stability.

Camp Counselor

What I liked

The people and the experience I had with the children I got to meet! There are so many wonderful things that you learn from the kids and all the love they give you, that is just irreplaceable!

What I wish was different

I wish I didn’t get sick so much! Because I had never been around kids so much, I was sick for a MONTH. That costed me a few days of work, which I wish it hadn’t.

Advice

I would highly recommend working with kids. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did, so it was very amazing to feel as loved and as superior as the kids made you feel.
