I got to work independently which was nice and at my own pace. Plus I got to listen to the radio lots as well as drive the pickup truck driving from place to place around the city of cottage grove
What I wish was different
I wish that we would've been given more to do cause some days we didn't really have anything to do so instead we would think of some things to do while on the fly.
Advice
I would say get ready to learn lots about weed whippers, mowers, trucks, etc. Coming into this job I had never weed whipped before but after this job, I am now VERY experienced mowing lawns and weed whipping

Streets Maintinance

What I liked
I liked being outdoors out and about learning about a city that I am not familiar with, now I am very fmailiar with and know where just about everything is. I liked the co-workers I was with, there were some who were seasonal like myself. Also, full timers who do this year round
What I wish was different
I wish that they had better vechiles for us to get around in as I was driving a '97 Ford F150 and the gas milage on it was awful and alwyas had a check engine light on it but nothing was wrong with the truck.
Advice
I learned a lot about what goes on in public works in the cities and actually how much they do for the city to keep it so nice and well kept. My advice to others would be don't be afraid to take a blue collar job such as this as you might take some life skills away from this job.
