-Staff was welcoming and helpful
-Generally enjoyed the work that I was doing
-Learned useful kitchen skills (making large quantities of food, following recipes, knife-work, cleanliness procedures)
What I wish was different
-More regular shifts (not through fault of employer–I was just lenient with hours)
-Better flexibility with employment status (needed 20+ hours per week to be considered part-time, which I couldn't maintain during the academic year)
Advice
You'll better appreciate the food you eat from grocery stores/restaurants/etc. if you experience all that it takes to make it. It's meaningful work!
