Entertainment Management Intern

May - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

The experience was an incredibly rewarding first experience in film and television. I was taught how to read a pilot, play and film script efficiently and providing extensive feedback in a few pages. I also learnt about the tools needed for day-to-day communication in television both email and on the phone.

What I wish was different

I think some form of mentorship/peer program would've been incredibly beneficial to the program. Having someone to email or talk to with questions that I wasn't sure who I could ask would have made the entire experience much stronger.

Advice

Respond to every email you get from your boss and peers. Even if it's a simple "sounds good!" or thumbs up, always give a response. I learnt the hard way!

intern

June - August 2017 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

Not only are you trusted with a lot of reading to get used to script coverage, you also get 3 meetings with managers and 1 shadow of an assistant where you get to ask meaningful questions about the job.

What I wish was different

No one loves a lunch run, but they word hard to space them out between the interns so it's not consistent and you're always reimbursed/it won't impact the amount of time you get for your own lunch break.

Advice

The assistants and managers actually are that nice and actually do care so definitely ask them questions while you can and strike up conversations so they remember you!
