I was able to expand my role by pursuing areas I was interested in. I was constantly asking people if I could help them so I was able to gain a lot more experience than just administration.
What I wish was different
I wish I got paid and had a shorter commute.
Advice
Try to learn as much as possible, do not limit your role. Of course, however, become good at your assigned role before taking on others.
