Intern

June - August 2021 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

I enjoyed working with the film industry. I also enjoyed getting to watch independent filmmakers films.

What I wish was different

I wish I would’ve been able to do this in a different era because in the Covid era there was really not much to do period in terms of events and social gatherings.

Advice

This is a great place, people are very nice, and a very fun place to work for. I recommend this place and I hope that you have events and things that you can go to.

Intern

January - April 2021 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

Cinema St. Louis provided a friendly, welcoming, and driven environment. I got the opportunity to work on several different projects with different people.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had gotten to work more hours. Some weeks I worked less because I did not have a set schedule since projects varied in how much there was to do.

Advice

Be excited and open to learning as you go because the projects you are working on may be completely different.

Video Production Intern

January - May 2021 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

I loved how I how much creative freedom freedom I was given. They were very collaborative and involved me in the process of coming up with different campaign and project ideas. I learned a lot about producing and how to sharpen my marketing and producing skills.

What I wish was different

It was mainly due to Covid, but having the opportunity to do more production and shooting would have been nice. Cinema St. Louis normally doesn't do as much production. More push or projects for video content or a better outline for a video production intern would be a good idea.

Advice

If you are looking more for a video production internship this is a good opportunity, however you will be learning more on the producing/creative side. If you are looking for something that could teach you more technical skills you may want to ask for more details. Regardless the people I worked under and with were very nice and a joy to work with, and it was a valuable experience that I'm happy to have on my resume.
