I liked that I get to gain the experience of working in a healthcare setting and get the opportunity to put what I have learned in class to work, while always having an actual nurse there to confirm or correct.
Additionally, they offer contingent employment, which allows you to work as little as two days per month when you are in classes. The residents and employees all greatly appreciate everything you do for them.
What I wish was different
It is a nursing home, so the majority of what you spend your time doing is rather unpleasant, as are some of the people and patients you encounter. And the start pay can be low, especially if you have no previous experience.
Advice
Any experience is worth it. Getting paid to learn is always a good thing! Make every experience a learning experience!! :)
