WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2018, Chow Yum Phat is an original vendor in the White Star Market, Baton Rouge’s first food hall. Chef and Owner Vu Le “Phat” wanted to grow the culinary scene by offering a verity of popular Asian street foods previously unavailable in the city. While his original idea was to start a food truck, the advent of the market changed his trajectory. In 2017 White Star Market announced Phat as one of the many chefs that would take residence once opened. Upon opening Jordan Ramirez joined CYP as a culinary and managing partner and has helped grow the concept since. Within the first year of business, CYP moved to a bigger, more equipped stall and opened a second operation in the market called Yuzu that specializes in poké and other raw fish preparations. Continuing to grow we are now opening a standalone concept in the Perkins Road Overpass neighborhood. This new iteration expands on the Ramen and Bao we already serve with a full selection of appetizers and large plates as well. In addition to expanding our culinary program, we are also adding full bar service and will offer full seated service at night with later hours.
