Marketing/PR Intern
September - December 2016 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
Fairly hands-on internship. Always had work to do. Got to see lots of great shows. Awesome staff who cares about your professional development.
What I wish was different
They expect a lot of hours for an internship that only has a stipend instead of hourly payment.
Advice
CST Is a big name in the Chicago theatre scene, and the internship was fulfilling. However, come to an agreement about hours when you accept the internship, otherwise you might find yourself working more than planned.

Stage Management Intern
August - September 2018 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
I got to meet a ton of fantastic professional actors, directors and designers. I was in all rehearsals and meetings so I had a full prospective of the stage management job.
What I wish was different
The assistant stage manager who I worked under was hard to work with and made my experience really difficult. Additionally the commute to and from Chicago Shakes from Evanston took a roundtrip of 2 to 2.5 hours everyday which was exhausting.
Advice
Work hard and still alert so you can anticipate the next job. People appreciate the little things.
