Always take any opportunity to learn and grow within your career, whether it is paid or unpaid. Even though you might not make money for a bit, the experience and knowledge will last you for a lifetime!

What I liked
I enjoyed the real world public health experience and learned much about childhood lead poisoning and epidemiology. I met many interesting people and am now using my knowledge on lead poisoning for a research project this academic year.

I would say that it is important to network with the people you meet because they may offer you jobs related to public health down the road.
