Software Developer Intern

June - August 2019 • Tampa, FL

What I liked

The company is great. It was easy to follow up with the recruiter as JP Morgan Chase is always available on campus through student organizations such as ACM. Also, the company is great and amazing. They have a friendly environment and people there help you to learn. The company is also working with new technologies. I got a great chance to network with the amazing people of the company.

What I wish was different

The company had everything which I have ever expected.

Advice

Just be eager to learn new technologies and network as much as you can.

July 2017 - August 2019 • San Antonio, TX

What I liked

I enjoyed the face-to-face interactions with clients and the responsibility of having large amounts of cash under my control.

What I wish was different

I wish my long class schedule for engineering was more organized, because I wasn't able to fit working at the bank during my upper division courses at UTSA.

Advice

If you're degree involves non-negotiable labs to attend once or twice a week or you don't have an organized daily/weekly schedule, it will be difficult to balance work and school hours. It's possible, but only for so long until you are expected to be on campus and the bank in the evenings.

Software Engineer

June - August 2019 • Columbus, OH

What I liked

The people I got to work with were competent in their fields and I learned a lot from them and my fellow peers.

What I wish was different

The way our project was set up wasn't programmer friendly, and you had to be on the project from the very beginning to fully understand what you're working on. There wasn't a whole lot of comments left in the code explaining what was going on.

Advice

Enjoy it, because although the internship is shorter, you make so many friends.
