CHARISM Summer Intern

What I liked

My co-workers were friendly. It was nice to work with kids over the summer. It helped me gain experience working with all types of kids. This is especially true for Fargo's at-risk youth. Overall I enjoyed my summer at CHARISM where I had an appropriate amount of responsibility.

What I wish was different

Sometimes, I wish there had been more structure than what was in place. Hopefully, as CHARISM grows they will have access to more resources and funds to hire more employees. More employees would allow for more differentiation in activity.

Advice

Get involved as much as you can. Develop solid relationships with the kids. They are there because their family is coming on hard times. They need to escape the negatives of life and see the positive for a little while.
